Professor Sandip Mishra is an Associate Professor at the School of International Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). He is also associated with JNU’s Center of East Asian Studies. He specializes in Korean politics, foreign policy, human rights, North Korean nuclear policy, and international relations in East Asia. He did his BA in Political Science at the University of Allahabad. Also, he completed his MA in International Politics and M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Korean Studies at the School of International Studies, JNU. I had the privilege of interviewing Professor Sandip Mishra through email on October 15, 2021. In this interview, he details his journey in the field of Korean studies, how he overcame his career challenges in the pandemic, his contributions in advancing Korean studies in India, and advice for students pursuing Korean Studies.
