Chaewon Kim, is the founder and CEO of Popsiz, a sustainable clothing brand based in Korea. At the age of 24, she launched Popsiz in February of 2020. The brand is getting major recognition after several of the biggest K-Pop artists such as Twice and Red Velvet were seen wearing clothes from the brand. Popsiz’s motto is “wear clothes that matter” and sells products such as upcycled vintage denim and graphic printed indigo instead of denim to lessen water usage. The brand uses natural dyes to replace toxic dyes, organic textiles, recycled plastics, deadstock fabric for its clothes and has biodegradable and recyclable packaging. I interviewed Kim via email on 15 February 2022. In this interview, she shares her personal journey in sustainability, establishing Popsiz, and her achievements and aspirations for the brand.
