Dr. CedarBough Saeji earned her B.A. in Human Ecology at the College of the Atlantic, M.A. in Korean Studies at Yonsei University, and Ph.D. in Culture and Performance at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She was also a postdoctoral researcher and teaching fellow in the Department of Asian Studies at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and has taught at Korea University, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, and UCLA. Professor Saeji is widely recognized for her expertise in Korean media and has given various lectures and interviews worldwide regarding this subject. Currently, she is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the East Asian Languages and Cultures Department at Indiana University Bloomington (IUB). I had the honor of interviewing her through email on 21 September 2020. This interview details Professor Saeji’s inspirations and aspirations as a Korean studies professor and valuable advice on how to succeed in the field.
